I found myself in a conversation the other day, one of those discussions that you know from the start is going to require patience. It was political, always a risky topic, and the person I was speaking with had strong views. The kind of views that come with a mission. They weren’t just sharing their perspective; they needed me to agree. They spoke with such conviction, such certainty, as if the only way to validate their beliefs was to have me nodding along in total agreement.
